Lawyer - QCAT Self Representation Service and Duty Lawyer Service
Full-time, 12 month contract
We seek a lawyer to assist eligible parties with proceedings in QCAT, including supervised casework, advice, appearances and support for pro bono solicitors/barristers. The role also assists with client intake, supervision of students, development of resources and stakeholder engagement and participates in the general activities of LawRight.
All LawRight positions are dependent on government or philanthropic funding. This is a 12 month contract.
One year PAE as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland; understanding of issues relating to self-representation and related disadvantage, or ability to quickly acquire it desirable; strong organisational, teamwork and communication skills essential.
Annual salary range from $69,502.00 pro rata depending on experience plus 9.5% superannuation, leave loading and six weeks annual leave pro rata.
As LawRight is Public Benevolent Institution, employees are entitled to generous salary packaging arrangements. The Federal Government currently allows PBI employees to salary sacrifice up to $35,000 (grossed up) of their income to personal and entertainment expenses.
