Lawyer - Outreach Legal Clinics
LawRight’s Outreach Legal Clinics, including the Homeless Persons’ Legal Clinic, increases access to justice for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, refugees and people with mental health concerns by connecting to clients in collaboration with their community support agencies.
We are seeking an experienced lawyer to deliver high level legal assistance within a pro bono framework.

Duties include: oversee the delivery of pro bono legal services at Legal Clinic locations; engage with relevant community agency and strategic partners; develop expertise in relevant areas of law; undertake resource development; conduct research, policy and systemic advocacy work; and contribute to the Legal Clinics’ training program.
Qualifications: Three years PAE and admitted or capable of immediate admission as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland; holder of current QLS Unrestricted Practicing certificate; understanding of and skills in legal casework and clinical legal settings essential; knowledge of issues faced by people experiencing homelessness and related vulnerabilities desirable; organisational and communication skills necessary.
Annual salary from $75,722.40 pro rata depending on experience, plus six weeks annual leave, leave loading and 9.5% superannuation. As LawRight is a Public Benevolent Institution, employees are currently entitled to salary sacrifice up to $35,000 (grossed up) of their income to personal and entertainment expenses.
