Administrative Assistant

LawRight is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the operation of its Community & Health Justice Partnerships (CHJP) and Mental Health Law Practice (MHLP) in LawRight’s head office in Brisbane.

Duties include: assist with incoming telephone calls, emails and correspondence; maintain service processes, databases and resources; file management including archiving and statistical reports; support office manager, service staff and volunteer lawyers; manage client intake; assist with organisation of events and training; and participate in the general activities of LawRight.

Strong and developed administrative skills;
High level research skills and oral and written communication skill;
High level organisational and computer skills;
Attention to detail;
Experience with CLASS recommended;
Self-motivated, with an ability to act independently with initiative;
Flexibility and initiative suitable for working in a team environment with limited resources; and
Demonstrated commitment to access to justice and compassion for marginalised and vulnerable members of society.

Previous administrative experience necessary, preferably 2+ years and ideally in the community sector.


Level 1 or 2 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, depending on experience.

• Leave loading and five weeks annual leave pro rata plus 9.5% superannuation.
• Eligibility to salary sacrifice up to $35,000 (grossed up) of income to personal and entertainment expenses.

This is a 3 or 4 day per week part-time contract until 30 June 2025. Continuation beyond this date is subject to LawRight funding and resources.
