LawRight is the primary facilitator of structured pro bono legal services in Queensland. LawRight’sCourt and Tribunal Services (C&TS) coordinate pro bono resources to provide unbundled legalassistance, pro bono referrals and mediations for selfrepresented parties, together with representation in selected matters. C&TS has offices that service the State Courts (Queensland Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts and Court of Appeal), the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, the Federal Courts (Federal Circuit Court and Family Court and Federal Court) and the Mental Health Review Tribunal.

We are recruiting for a paralegal to support the Federal Courts office on a full-time basis.

Duties include: maintain LawRight processes, databases and resources; support LawRight staffand volunteer lawyers/barristers; manage client intake; undertake case assessment; contribute toresearch and policy development; and participate in the general activities of LawRight.

Qualifications: Senior law student; understanding of issues relating to self-representation and related disadvantage, or ability to quickly acquire it desirable; strong organizational and communication skills essential

Location: Brisbane

Classification: Level 2, Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award

Benefits: Leave loading and five weeks annual leave pro rata plus 10% superannuation. Eligibility to salary sacrifice up to $35,000 (grossed up) of income to personal and entertainment expenses.

Term: Full-time, ongoing, subject to ongoing funding.
