Court & Tribunal Services 

Part-time 4 days/week 

LawRight provides access to justice for vulnerable people by coordinating the pro bono resources of legal professions. The Court & Tribunal Service, Federal Courts assists people who cannot afford a lawyer and who are representing themselves in the civil jurisdiction of the Federal and Federal Circuit Courts, Brisbane. 

Duties include: maintain Service processes, databases and resources; support Service staff and volunteer lawyers/barristers; manage client intake; undertake case assessment; contribute to research and policy development; and participate in the general activities of LawRight.

Qualifications: Senior law student; understanding of issues relating to self-representation and related disadvantage, or ability to quickly acquire it desirable; strong organizational and communication skills essential 

Location: Brisbane 

Classification: Level 2, Social and Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 

Benefits: Leave loading and five weeks annual leave pro rata plus 9.5% superannuation. Eligibility to salary sacrifice up to $35,000 (grossed up) of income to personal and entertainment expenses. 

Term: Position is for 4 days per week until June 2025. Continuation beyond this date is subject to LawRight funding and resources.
